REQUIREMENTS

To fully experience gigzter.com we recommend the following minimum requirements:

- 1024 X 768 or higher resolution with Hi-color (65,000 colors) or better.
- High-speed Internet connection (Cable/DSL) or better
- Macromedia flash player (current version)
- Internet Explorer 5.0 or better (site not fully supported with Firefox/Mozilla)
- Java JRE (current version)
- 16bit Stereo soundcard and stereo sound system

HOW TO USE THIS SITE

Any band or artist that wants to become a member and profiled as a gigzter.com artist should visit the register section of this site for further details.

All other users can enjoy this site in many ways. However, we encourage you to apply the following basic principles to maximize your value and experience:

(1) Visit the Gigzter “ARTISTS” profiles. Spend the time to listen to and rate ALL of our member artists. New member additions will be posted on a weekly basis and notification will be made on the front page of these new additions. We encourage all listeners to visit the new artist profiles weekly. This will help ensure that all members are given the fairest possible chance to succeed on our charts; as well as provide our public listeners the opportunity to experience all the excellent, hand-selected, original music we have to offer! And members, we can't stress enough how much we encourage the invite of your fans to vote for you...this is key.

(2) Remember! You vote for the Artist, not the song. Again this helps to level the playing field. What do you feel is a better indication of a “good” artist? An artist with a single “one hit wonder”, or an artist with several good songs, although these songs may not necessarily be classified as hits? In our opinion the latter is a more accurate measure of course!

(3) Spread the Word! If you consider yourself a fan of any artist(s) on the site, then please spread the word! Tell all your friends and family of this great new, undiscovered, band you know of and direct them to their profile page on our site.

(4) Create your own "PLAYLIST" with the Gigzter player! Queue up your favorite tracks and enjoy hours of free, quality, original music. When asked who’s the artist of this cool new song, take pride in telling them...and don’t forget to mention that they were discovered on Gigzter.com !

(5) Once you become a Loyal Fan to any particular artist, visit the artists website (listed in the contact section of their profile) for additional content, and of course to see if they are soon to be performing in your area! After all, there is nothing like experiencing your favorite band or artist live.

(6) View the “STANDINGS” to see how your favorite artists "fair" within the charts. Are you as good a judge of talent as you think you are? We think so.

(7) Coming Soon! Too many new features to list (yeah right). Well, we'll see what happens. This is just way too fun to stop now!

ARTIST OF THE WEEK

Once per week a link to a randomly selected artist will appear on our front page. The intent of this feature is to give ALL our artists an additional chance to further the recognition and exposure they deserve.

MY PLAYLIST

We believe this feature to be the coolest! Here you can browse all of our members’ tunes and create your own customized playlist. Just select the songs you want to hear and enjoy hours of original streaming music!

STANDINGS

The gigzter standings are a fun and valuable tool used to provide an accurate representation of popularity, and fans level of appreciation for our members’ music. The ratings algorithm is based on a simple, but effective, formula that calculates overall rank based on average rating and number of votes. This provides what we feel is a proper balance between popularity (number of votes) and talent (average rating). Hint, hint...an artist whose genre of music may not necessarily appeal to the majority of listeners will still fair well on the charts if their music is well received by those users who have listened - and visa versa of course.

Another benefit of this rating structure is that YOU, members and visitors, can play an active role in helping to build a loyal group of fans. All simply by spreading the word and requesting that fans rate your music! We believe this to be a very powerful concept that can help any artist promote themselves to a large number of listeners, in a relatively short period of time, who in-turn become loyal fans.

ARTISTS

Browse through our alphabetical hierarchy of Artists, or by genre. Read their profile, listen to their music, and of course rate them. We encourage all listeners to do this. Every song, we believe, is worth many and every listen!

EVENTS

Coming Soon (we hope) - Visit our Event Calendar for a schedule of sponsored events. Although not currently available, we are also pondering the idea of individual event calendars for all our members.
