Area 51 - two schooltime friends, Jirka Nerad and David Uher, accidentally met in a famous Kromeriz pub called "U Premysla". What's more, after a short conversation on the topic of music, they found they both were enjoyed the same styles of music. Not only were they willing to listen together but also attempt playing it too.

Was it exactly like that? It's not so important. However, the most important thing for the future of the band happened several months later when the progressive-instrumental-rock band Area 51 saw the world's light for the first time.

The band's first official rehearsal took place in November 1997. After two months they had their first set of compositions thrown together on their first CD. Musically, the material could've used some work. However, it is the substance of Area 51's evolution.
